Make your own Valentines Day Decoration

February 10, 2010 | Filed under: Articles

I love to decorate for the holidays. All of them! But, of course it’s not in my budget to buy decorations for every holiday. So, I like to make my own! It’s so fun and easy too. I made a cute little sign to hang on my wall. Today I will show you how I did it!

Index Card Notebook

August 24, 2009 | Filed under: Articles

This little notebook is made with index cards. Wanting something that was more flexible than a standard notebook and not too big they were the perfect solution. Add in some specially made tabs and it became exactly what was needed.

Recording memories of your little ones

August 19, 2009 | Filed under: Articles

Recently, The Hybrid Chick held a Baby Shower and I made a treasure/keepsake tin for a newborn baby. I thought I’d add some index cards inside the tin for the proud parents to record precious memories of their baby. Whether it be to document those special moments at birth, or when baby first smiles or laughs or even to record some information about the keepsakes or treasures that will be going into this precious tin.

Diaper Bag Tag

Here’s a quick and easy project–great for those who have yet to try their hand at a hybrid project. Make one for yourself or make a ton for all your girlfriends. It’s simple, adorable and oh so easy to do!

Hybrid Gable Box

July 10, 2009 | Filed under: Articles

Being home for summer means plenty of trips to the pool.  Unfortunately we don’t own our own pool, so it means taking advantage of all of our friend’s pools!  I always try to bring each person a little something for their generosity.   Whether it’s little bottles of sunscreen, goggles, …

Freedom Banner

July 3, 2009 | Filed under: Articles

What better way to show what the 4th of July means than a banner with your favourite word symbolizing what Independence day means to you.

If you are not American and not celebrating this weekend then you can use the idea’s in this tutorial for party banners of any kind.

Lets get started!

Start July off with a BANG!

This has got to be one of my favorite projects! These firecrackers are quick and easy…and you have time to make a bunch before the holiday weekend!

The “Uh-Oh” Box

June 27, 2009 | Filed under: Articles, Giveaways

Today’s project for our celebration of all things baby is a handy box to keep in the trunk of your car for those “uh-oh” moments… like when you notice that the 25 lb. weight limit on your baby’s diaper has been exceeded by 5 lbs, but you forgot to bring your diaper bag; or when you’re out running errands and baby is all of a sudden in need of a change of clothes! I started keeping extras of all the essentials in the back of my van. As I was browsing Michaels the other day and came across these boxes for storing your photos, I thought they would make a cute and original gift for any mother-to-be.

Baby Announcement Book

June 23, 2009 | Filed under: Articles, Giveaways

I wasn’t even sure what to call this project…a mix of canvas, baby announcement and book. It is definitely a true hybrid project. And easier than it looks! Try your hand at this unique and personal gift!
