I love making gifts for people. That is one my favorite "hybrid" things to do! People love to receive a gift you made especially for them. And they are always a big hit. Even if it really wasn't that hard to make! This one is nice and simple, but looks great!

My friend is about to have her 3rd baby any day now! Her baby shower was last weekend and I made her some fun little personalized onesies and packaged them up in matching boxes! So fun to make and simple too! They were the hit of the shower!

All you need for this project is…

Photo editing program, I use PSE6

Printer

Iron on transfer printer paper and an Iron

Onesies

Matte photo paper

Digi Kit, I used Punky Girl by, Pri Rocha and Tutti Frutti by Sugarplum Paperie both at TDC
Box template, I used The Top Heavy Box Template and the 4×6 print box Template both by Kelleigh Ratzlaff at TDC too!

Some edge distressing ink, glue, scissors, ribbon

That’s about it!

So, let’s get started. First of course you design your shirt iron-ons in Photoshop. Just open up your digi kit and go crazy! Make is say something like “Cute” or “Sweet” I also made some with the baby’s name “Summer” You can make them say anything you want! That’s the great thing. Here are a few of mine.:

While you are in Photoshop go ahead and design your box! This is so simple, too. The instructions come with the templates and it’s a snap! I made mine with the same kit as the Onesies so the whole set matches!

So next we need to print everything out! Make sure you print your iron-ons in mirror image! And print our your boxes on your matte photo paper or cardstock.

And now assemble! Make sure you let the iron-ons sit for at least 30 minutes before you iron them on… as the directions say. (I was going to have a cute little matching hat for one of these sets, but it smeared because I didn’t wait long enough! LOL! I guess following directions is a good thing sometimes!

Here are my boxes getting put together. They are easy just cut on solid lines and fold on dotted lines! I like to sand and ink my edges too.

Here are the onesies all done! I made a diaper bag tag too.

Now just wrap it all up in your matching boxes and your gift is ready to give!

Want a fun and cute way to personalize your baby's diaper bag tag?

This is a super quick and simple project, and makes a cute little addition to a baby gift.

Fast and easy and personalized!

Let me show you how....

This is a really quick and simple project. I made this little tag yesterday, to go along with a little personalized onesie for a cousin and her new baby. His name is Wyatt, so I just had to go with the Cowboy theme!

All you need for this project is…

Your photo editing program

Your printer

A cute Digi Scrapping Kit

Matte photo paper or card stock

Scissors or a paper cutter

Badge holders, these are easy to find at your local office supply store, online, or even at Wal Mart.

Thats it!

So, first you choose your kit, I used Wild, Wild West by Pamela Donnis and Krystal Hartley.

Then you need to measure your badge holder. Mine was 2.5 x 3.5. Open a new file in Photoshop the size of your badge holder.

Now open up your digi kit and design your tag! Fun!

Do one for the front and one for the back. Here are mine:

And the back:

I left some space on the back where my cousin can write in her information. Merge your layers and drag them both onto a 8.5 x 11 file and print on your matte paper or card stock.

Cut them out and place in the badge holder!

Here is the whole gift I made for him, all matching the diaper bag tag. I made a matching onesie (which you can learn here). And packaged it all up in one of Kelleighs Bags!

If you’ve spent any time in some of the online galleries lately, you’ve probably seen a few iron-on projects and may have wondered “how’d they do that?” Well, you’re in the right place!! Today I’m going to tell you exactly how to create those unique gifts using printable iron-on transfer sheets!!

Before you get started, you’ll need to gather a few supplies:

Pigment Ink safe for stamping on fabric – I used Perfect Match Hybrid Ink in True Black from Papertrey Ink.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Pre-wash fabric to remove sizing.

Design your iron-on like you would any other digital project using your photo editing software of choice. (again, I use Photoshop Elements). Tip: if you’re using words, be sure to flip the text layer horizontally (so it’s a mirror image when it prints) otherwise your words will be backwards when ironed on (trust me on this one!!!).

Print. Check in the preference window for iron-on transfers under “paper type” – my printer has that setting. Once you have it printed out, use scissors to trim closely around the edge of your design.

Iron-on according to the instructions included in the Transfer Sheet packaging. Tip: if you have an old onesie or similar fabric to practice on, you might print out a few extras of your design to play around with the heat setting on your iron and the timing a bit before tackling your project – I went through a few onesies before I got things just right. (but it was worth it!!). For more tips on ironing, be sure to check out Jill’s great post about it in the Digichick Forums: Ironing Tips.

I’ve found that contrary to the Transfer Sheet Instructions, I get the best results if I remove the backing while it’s still piping hot, NOT waiting for it to cool. I’m not sure if this is a result of environmental conditions or what, but you might have to play around a bit with that as well.

If you’d like to add a stamped image or sentiment to your project, place your stamp on your acrylic block, ink it up, and center it where you’d like it. Using even, firm pressure, stamp directly onto the fabric as you would paper.

Admire your handiwork!!
