Today I have a really cute and fun project showing you how to dress up a plain old lunch sack into an adorable Halloween treat bag. I have added some yummy popcorn pumpkins that I made with marshmellows, butter, peanuts and candy corn. Yum Yum!

For this project I used the following supplies

lunch sack 10 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 3 1/4

clothespins

Brew HA HA digital kit by Jan Hosford

double sided tape

glue

ruler

pencil

black Stazon ink

ribbon

sponge

transparency sheet

Sizzix Big Kick

Nestabilities scallop rectangles

7 x 5 1/4 cardstock

sewing

Stampin’ Up! stamp set Web Wishes

Studio G clear stamp set

chipboard

rhinestones

HP Premium Presentation Paper

I first measured my sack and created specific sizes to fit it on the front and flap of the sack. I printed them out on HP Premium Presentation Paper and cut them out. To create a window in the sack I used my Sizzix and the scalloped rectangle nestability.

Then I cut a rectangle in the lunch sack slightly larger than the black star paper.

Now cut out a piece of transparency sheet slightly larger than the rectangle in the lunch sack. Use Stazon ink to stamp image on transparency and apply double sided tape on to the transparency and tape to inside of bag.

Sponge edges of remaining paper with ink. Fold long strip of paper, sew and glue to sack. Cut out chipboard and glue paper. Stamp image on smaller paper and glue to chipboard. Trace the shape of the clothespin on wrong side of paper and cut out, stamp and glue to clothespin. Add ribbon to top of clothespin. Score flap of sack at 1 inch and 2 inches. Then glue papers to flap and add rhinestones and clothespin to top of sack.

To make a platform for your treats in the sack score a 7 x 5 1/4 piece of card stock at 1 inch on all sides. Slit on the score lines on both sides and glue according to the pictures below.

Insert to inside of your treat bag and add some yummy goodies!

Don’t you just love these cute little paint pails! These paint pails are just perfect little containers to put your favorite Christmas goodies in to give to family and friends. You can put homemade goodies or just some store bought candy and dress it up a bit.

Supplies

Kelley Mickus digital kit Click

clear paint pail

3/4″ circle, 1 3/8″ circle, scallop, slot SU! punches and various snowflake punches

Sizzix SU! Topnote and Circle, Scallop #2 dies

Coluzzle

rectangle nestibilities

Real Red and Old Olive SU! ink

Real Red and Old Olive SU! CS

Ribbon and Rhinestones

glue dots and glue sticks

Loads of Love SU! stamp

Studio g clear stamp

First, print out your favorite digital paper and measure your pail. For my pail it was just over 12″ around and 4 3/4″ high. Since I can only print out 8.5″ x 11 paper I had to paper piece my pail. Here’s an example of my first piece of paper.

You will need to cut two holes for your handle, so hold your cut paper up to your pail and use a paper piercer to mark the center of your circle. Then use your 3/4″ circle punch to punch your circles and cut a small slit in the top of the circle. I also used my Topnote Die and rectangle nestibilities to cut out the center for a see through window and the slotted punch to punch holes in the left and right side of the Topnote to run a ribbon through . Now glue this section onto your pail. Once glued, measure the next section. I measure at the top and bottom because everything isn’t always perfectly straight. Glue this section down. Now adjust your ribbon.

On my lid I used the Sizziz Circle, Scallops #2 die cut and the coluzzle to cut out my circle. Stamped a sentiment, inked the edges and glue to lid. Then added a layered punched snowflake with rhinestone and ribbon to the handle.

To make the peppermint patties I used Studio g clear stamps and the 1 3/8″ circle and scallop SU! punches. Glue the circle to the scallop and then to the peppermint patty.

I shredded some red cardstock for the bottom of my pail and added my goodies… and here’s my finished Christmas gift!

Print on a piece of cardstock. On mine I chose a different paper that was the same size as the template and printed it on the on the opposite side. Remember, if you want your colors to look brighter to adjust the contrast.

Cut envelope out and sponged ink around the outside and inside & score lines.

Grab your 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of vellum and put a small strip of double sided sticky tape along both sides and bottom of the inside of the envelope.

Cut or punch out shapes for your thread, buttons and pins and needles.

Apply velcro to inside top flap and outside bottom flap of envelope.

Place all the sewing goodies inside

Bone folder

Score-Pal or paper cutter with scorer blade

Scissors

Glue and glue dots

Corner rounder punch

Any other embellishments you may want… ribbon, glitter, jewels, stamps, etc.

So let’s get started! First here’s the template that we will be using and it is oh-so-easy to make! Thank you, Kerin. I also will be using Sugarplum Paperie’s Strawberry Cafe to cover it with.

When I start a hybrid project I like to measure out how much paper I will need. For this box we are going to need four 4 x 5 digital papers in two different patterns and I’m also going to use the strawberries elements from the kit, resize them to two different sizes and print them two times so I can pop one layer. Here are my examples of what I printed:

As you can see, I only printed exactly what I needed to complete my project.

Now, grab your two pieces of thin cardboard and glue the two different patterned papers to each side, like you see here to the left.

I used my Sizzix Big Kick with Stampin’ Up! Top Note die cut to make my label shape.

If you don’t have these supplies I have made a template for you (you will just need to cut it out by hand).

Now that we have that done we will start on the box. Grab your box template and follow the instructions for scoring. You can use these pictures below to help you finish up your box:

And that’s it!
