It’s Vicki here with a new project just in time for any last minute Valentine’s Day gifts!
The minute I saw this file from Paper Garden Projects I ‘fell in LOVE’ <3 and knew I had to create it 😉
I’m a big fan of Catherine’s cutting files and find them very easy to use with my Silhouette Software and to cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
I decided on using pink and black as my main colour theme. Here’s my traditional sneak peek:
I chose my Valentine’s paper from my stash and used pink, kraft brown and black cardstock and then put my Cameo to work. Once the pieces were all cut I started putting them together – the glue I used is my all time new favourite – Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue!
So I decided to use my Silhouette PixScan for the first time on this project (epic fail). So instead of doing a print and cut of the sentiments and waste a full page of cardstock I decided to use the left over kraft brown cardstock from the cup and doughnut, print on that (which went through my printer fine as a smaller size) and then use the PixScan mat and set my shapes over the sentiments to cut! Well I think the idea was good but it didn’t go down too well … lol … so I ended up hand cutting the sentiments (after my machine cut through the top of one of the words!) – my PixScan mat will have to wait and be tried another time!
Here’s a picture of the cup cut file before I added the sentiment.
After cutting the sentiments I decided to glue 2 of them on the inside of the gift holders and the other on the outside.
The completed Gift Card Holders – I love these files, they were so easy to use and put together and will make anyone happy.
This file set is currently $2.99 and definitely worth the purchase if you’re looking for a great gift card holder set with some sweetness to it!
Thank you for joining me today on the Hybridchick Blog. Happy Crafting and see you again soon!
