Mini Album Hits the Right Note!
It’s official. Our family are bona fide Disney addicts!
After our first trip in 2007, we have been hooked! We love the parades, the rides, characters and all the usual trappings. We’ve now been there four times, but if I’m brutally honest, I find Disney photos very tricky to scrap!
I don’t know about you but I have lots of old CD’s and DVD’s hanging around. Homemade CD’s that I no longer need or those that come free with magazines or with Sunday supplement.
I picked out Star Spangled by Bella Gypsy for my kit. I love the patriotic colours and images. I printed a random selection of papers ready for my album.
To speed up the process, I covered each CD with a sheet of paper before layering on top. I use double-sided tape to secure my papers and then just trim with a craft knife. Banners are all the rage so creating a tiny one for the album adds a really cute touch in no time!
I like to add a swipe of ink to my edges for a little definition (I used Faded Jeans).
Even though the photos are very busy and colourful, the consistency of the red, white and blue doesn’t seem to overwhelm.
The rosettes are a doddle to make. Trim a 12″ piece of patterned paper to 3/4″ to 1″ depending on the required size. Score at regular interval (I use my cutting mat grid as my guide). Concertina fold before glueing the ends together. Once dry, glue to a small card circle to help keep the rosette in place. Add a couple of flags and voila!
I used four CD’s for my book but you can expand to more pages if desired. I punched a hole to bind it together using a Crop a Dile but a Bind it All will also punch through nicely. The beauty of the album is that it is very durable – perfect for passing around!
I hope that you enjoyed my album. Thanks for popping in!
