Flip Flop Card
With summer in full swing, I wanted something fun and lighthearted to create. All I could think about is flip flops. My daughter goes through them like crazy, thankfully they are only a $1 at the Dollar Store.
So I decided I wanted to make a card using a flip flop. I’ve even made a template you can download and make for yourself. So gather your supplies and follow along.
Supplies:
- Flip Flop Card template by me
- My Sunshine by Megan Turnidge
- Candy Dispenser Template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs
- Scissors
- Scoring Tool
- Adhesive
- Flowers
- Ribbon
- Hole Puncher
After I added my papers to my template, I moved the top piece and the card piece to an 8″ x 10″ sheet and then also included some embellishments to add to my card and printed them out.
I then cut out the card and scored it down the center.
Before I cut out the top piece, I used my hole puncher to punch the holes for my ribbon to go through.
I then cut some ribbon – I didn’t measure. But I folded it in half and threaded it through the top hole, then I took the ribbon and threaded each side. You’ll start to see that it looks like a flip flop already.
I took a piece of tape and taped down my ribbon on the back, then added adhesive around all the sides to adhere to my card.
Once my card was put together, I decided I wanted to make a small gift to go along with it. My daughter laid claim to the card. She wanted to give it to her new friend. So I let her pick the gift. I decided to use Kelleigh’s Candy Dispenser Template.
I then cut the box out, scored the lines and assembled the box according to the directions.
We added some gum to it and there you go! A fun summer gift.
