Summer Cottage Gift Bag!

July 13, 2011 | Filed under: Articles and tagged with: Cottage, Cowboy Cool, Elise Hansen, gift, Kelleigh Ratzlaff, Little Gardener, new home, Quick Favor, Safe Haven, Seed Packet, Seven Dayz Designs, Tami Miller

This fun gift bag is great for a new homeowner or just as a little treat for someone special!  And for an even more fun twist, you can use a Seed Packet as a gift card or money holder to put inside this adorable little cottage! Let’s get started:

You will need the following:

  • Quick Favor Template Set by Kelleigh Ratzlaff
  • Seed Packet Template Set by Kelleigh Ratzlaff
  • Safe Haven Full Kit by Tami Miller
  • Little Gardener Kit by Seven Dayz Designs
  • Cowboy Cool Designer Kit by Elise’s Pieces Designs (I used the fence from this kit)
  • Scor-pal or Scoring Tool
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Ribbon
  • Hole Puncher
  • Heart Punch (optional)

First print out templates and embellishments onto sturdy white cardstock. Then reinsert each template back into printer and print out your favorite patterned paper onto the back of the templates.

Cut out Quick Favor template and score where indicated. Assemble.

Punch holes where indicated on template and insert ribbon, tying into a bow.

Cut off the left sides on 1 fence and the right sides on other that protrude out.

Adhere each fence to side of template. They can also be tucked into the side openings of template.

If desired, punch out a heart to be used as a door and then adhere button to it for doorknob.  Adhere to front of template.

Now decorate as desired. Adhere flowers to the back of fence using hot glue gun, so they appear to be “peeking” out from behind the fence.  Add window frame to the top of template. Here you can personalize your gift by writing on the window.  Add shovel and rake, leaves, sign and watering can.

For a special gift card or money holder. print out and assemble Seed Packet template as mentioned above. Decorate as desired. Add inside the gift bag for that special little touch!

There are so many possibilities for this little cottage bag! Just imagine it all dressed up in Christmas embellishments for a special “from our home to yours” Christmas gift! Or how about Halloween, Autumn, Easter, etc!  It can be filled with candy, cookies or a special little gift!

I hope you enjoyed this special little cottage! Have fun making one of your own!

Hugs…
Melissa
