Sweet Celebration Birthday Set!
Today we’re going to make a fun birthday-themed project full of bright and cheery colors, sparkle and bling!
Supplies from The Digichick Shop:
- Eat Cake Designer Kit by Karen Lewis
- Mini Banner Template and Cutting Files by Stacy Molter
- Gift Card #1 Templates and Cutting Files by Stacy Molter
- Other supplies: cardstock, baker’s twine, paper flowers, Happy Birthday stamp, alphas stamps, grosgrain ribbon, glitter, bling embellishments, dimensionals.
Let’s get this party started!
Print out whichever patterned papers you want to use for the base of your gift card template, gift card insert and any tags, banners and embellishments you want to add. Cut out and score accordingly.
Stamp “h” (happy) “b” (birth) “d” (day) onto 3 banner pieces, back with some contrasting cardstock. Stamp ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment onto the tag; add a couple bling-y rhinestones.
Insert a gift card into the slots in the gift card holder. Place the gift card holder inside the template base and fold edges closed.
The grosgrain ribbon wrapper will hold your little template base closed. Be sure to wrap the grosgrain around the template and adhere all the desired embellishments TO THE RIBBON and not to the template so that your recipient can easily slip the ribbon wrapper off to get to the gift card inside! If you glue the wrapper and embellishments onto the template base, they will have to rip into it all to get to the gift card and may destroy your pretty work!
So now, your little gift card holder is complete! Easy peesy, right? You can make a bunch of these when you have some free time and keep them on hand for any special occasion that pops up!
Now, let’s make a matching card! Print out whichever patterned papers and embellishments you wish to use from the Eat Cake Designer Pack.
Cut out the embellishments you want to use. Here I chose to use the ‘PARTY’ banner, and adorable birthday cake and candle image and a ‘celebration’ sentiment. I attached the banner to the base of my card popped up with dimensionals and then anchored the banner onto the card with some pretty purple baker’s twine and paper flowers sugared with glitter!
I sugared the cake image with ultra fine glitter!
I decorated the inside of the card with some more pretty patterned papers from the Eat Cake Designer Pack and printed a cute sentiment onto the red polka dotted paper then I added another banner I hand cut.
And here you have it … the finished card!
A sweet, sweet set for that someone special in your life!
Thanks so much for peeking in today! I hope you enjoyed my Sweet Celebration Birthday Set!!!
Hugs,
Debbie
