Dream With Me – 50th Anniversary!
Today I am very happy to share with you all a sweet project I made to honor my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary that they will celebrate in August! WOW – 50 years together … what a huge accomplishment!
Supplies from The Digichick Shop:
Wishes, Hopes & Dreams Boutique Collab Kit
Piece of Cake Template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff
Other supplies: scissors, glue, lace trim, rhinestones, fabric brads, gold glass glitter, seam binding, gold ultra fine glitter, trinket pins (or beads to make your own), gold ribbon, paper doilie, dimensionals, twill paint, glimmer mist, sewing machine (optional).
Have fun going through the Wishes, Hopes and Dreams Boutique Collab Kit … there are so many gorgeous papers and embellishments! The trick will be ‘which’ items to pick for your project as it will be so hard to choose from the huge variety of goodies in this wonderful pack!
After you’ve printed out all your desired patterned papers and embellishments, cut out the Piece of Cake template and any embellishments you wish to put on your project. Gather up all the supplies from your craft baskets that you plan to add to your design.
Glue the Piece of Cake template together, insert the tab into the slot (do not glue here if you plan on filling the Piece of Cake with candy or goodies) and add a coordinating piece of patterned paper to the top of the Cake.
Next comes the ‘fun’ part and where all the magic happens … decorate your Piece of Cake!!! I love anything shabby and vintage, so I piled my cake high with lots of delicious vintage lace trims, 3-D scrunched paper blooms, Mint Green Tea Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop, trinket pins, berries, fabric covered brads, glass glitter and ultra fine gold glitter.
I went ‘heavy’ on the gold embellishments and accents since it’s their 50th GOLDEN Wedding Anniversary!
The white leaves are from Prima and I sugared them liberally with gold ultra fine glitter … YUM!
The mini blossoms are embellishements from the Wishes, Hopes & Dreams kit that I printed, cut, scrumpled to add dimension, glued onto the vintage lace trim and then added a gold rhinestone to the middle of each!
And isn’t this gold, shimmery, wired ribbon scrumptious … I think it’ll make a lovely statement for the 50th Celebration!
Well, no gift set is complete, in my humble opinion, until it has a matching handmade from the heart card! So go ahead and print off some more yummy patterned papers and embellishments to create a coordinating card for your Piece of Cake!
Cut your patterned papers to fit your card base and then cut out all the embellishments you wish to add. Gather up some additional supplies from your craft baskets to match those that you used on the Piece of Cake! I used gold glass glitter on the alpha ’50′ to make it pop! Isn’t that sentiment banner so pretty?!? I inked the edges of the banner and patterned papers with twill paint to create a time-worn look.
I spritzed half of a paper doilie with pink glimmer mist to give it some sparkle!
And created another 3-D scrumpled blossom with a pretty little fabric covered brad for the center!
Too sweet, huh???
And there you have it … a totally scrumptious — looks almost good enough to eat — gift set! This set would be suitable for a wedding gift, anniversary gift, shower gift … or even table favors at the shower or wedding! I had a ton of fun creating this set and am so happy that you popped in today for a little peek!
Until next time, happy stamping ya’ll! Hugs, Debbie xoxoxoxoxo
