My daughter and I love to give small gifts to people. I love that she has such a giving heart. We decided we wanted to give something special to her Sunday School teacher. So today, we’re going to assemble a popcorn slider as a thank you gift.
Let’s gather our supplies and get started.
- I <3 You by Mommyish
- Hole Puncher
- Cardstock – measured 6″ x 11″
- Microwave Popcorn
The first thing I did was create a template in Photoshop 5.75″ x 10.75″ (My printer is not a borderless printer, but if yours is, adjust the measurement to 11″). The front of the popcorn is about 4.25″ wide, so that is what I wanted to decorate first.
I also added some score lines in Photoshop – this helped me to know where to put my embellishments. The areas to score are as follows: 1.5″, 2″, 6.25″ and 6.75″.
Once my design was printed out, I cut out the cardstock (6″ x 11″) and my design.
I scored both papers and then journaled my thank you note.
Next, I assembled the slider. I first adhered the cardstock base and then added my printed design on top. I then took my hole punch and found the center on the cardstock to punch a hole through the top and the bottom. I didn’t punch through my design. This helps “hide” the ribbon and the hole.
You will then insert the ribbon through both holes and then insert your popcorn. This will push the ribbon all the way down your slider. Once your popcorn is nice and secure, trim your ribbon and tie a bow.
When you pull on the ribbon, your popcorn will slide out easily. The last thing I did was add a little rosette flower to my slider and I was done.
And that’s it. A very simple thank you gift that I am sure any teacher would love. Happy Scrapping!
