A Very Vintage Easter!

April 13, 2011 | Filed under: Articles and tagged with: carrot, Do it Yourself, Easter, Easter decoration, Easter table, egg shaped basket, egg shaped box, gift, gift boxes, home decor, Kelleigh Ratzlaff, Quirky Twerp, vintage, Vintage Easter, vintage Easter card

I have three sweet projects to share with you all today here at The Hybrid Chick!  Let’s check out the materials list and get going, shall we …

Supplies from The Digichick Shop:

Easter Egg Basket Template Set and cutting files  by Kelleigh Ratzlaff

Carrot Box Template Set and cutting files  by Kelleigh Ratzlaff

Easter Retrospect Scrapbook Kit   by Quirky Twerp

General paper crafting supplies:

Scissors, glue, seam binding, trinket pin, glitter paper, twine, jingle bell, pearl, kraft cardstock, paint, paper doilie, satin ribbon, flowers.

Print out PDF version of the Easter Egg Basket template or use the cutting file with your Cricut or other cutting machine. Print out a digital paper of your choice and cut the basket template with the patterned paper. Score the template and assemble.

Gather up some paper crafting supplies to decorate your egg basket. Ink the edges of all the cardstock and patterned paper with cream paint to create a time-worn look. I found a pretty vintage egg image on-line and adhered it to the front of my egg basket. I gathered some Pink Bubblegum Shabby Vintage Seam Binding from my Etsy Shop into a bow and adhered it to the front of the basket. Attach a pretty flower and trinket pin to the seam binding bow.

Stamp a sentiment onto one of the tags from the Easter Retrospect Scrapbook Kit, adhere it to a kraft cardstock backing and tie it onto the flower with twine and a jingle bell painted with pink paint.

What an absolutely adorable and sweet, vintage Easter Egg basket … I think I’ll make one of these for each place setting at my Easter dinner table!!!

For the next project, print out another sheet of digital paper of your choice and then use either the PDF version of the Carrot Box template or cut file with your Cricut. Score and assemble the box according to directions.

Gather up some paper crafting supplies to decorate your carrot … I KNOW — you’ve never seen a floral carrot before, but this is a special VINTAGE one!! Gather a paper doilie around a pretty flower and adhere to the top of the carrot box. Cut some leaves from green glitter paper and adhere under the paper doilie/flower. Gather up some twine into a loopy bow and adhere.

Stamp a sentiment on one of the tags from the Easter Restrospect Scrapbooking Kit, adhere it onto kraft cardstock, ink the edges and tie onto the carrot box using Pink Bubblegum Shabby Vintage Seam Binding.

For the final project, we’re going to make a pretty little vintage card that you cand send to someone for Easter or ‘just because’ … for spring!

Print off a 4″ x 6″ decorative piece of digital paper and gather up paper crafting supplies of your choice. Ink the edges of all cardstock. Stamp a sentiment on a tag from the Easter Restrospect Scrapbooking Kit and adhere it to a kraft cardstock base. Cut out some digital flowers from the scrapbook kit.

Rouche some vanilla satin ribbon from top to bottom on your card and machine sew in place (optional).  Adhere a pretty flower, twine loopy bow, little cardstock birdie, handcut flowers and tie tag on with Pink Bubblegum Shabby Vintage Seam Binding.

A pearl for the birdie’s eye and a sweet little bunny stamped image complete this card!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to make some very sweet and pretty little vintage treasures to give  to your loved ones and friends this spring season!  Thanks for peeking in today and spending some time with me :)
