Shabby Chic Baby Brag Book!

March 11, 2011 | Filed under: Articles and tagged with: baby, Baby Brag book, baby gift, Do it Yourself, gift, Mari Koegelenberg, Shabby Chic

This is the {sweetest} and most adorable little shabby chic baby brag book … and SUPER EASY and FUN to create!

I simply adore the soft, pastel colors in this set of yellow, pink and lavender!

Supplies from The Digichick Shop:

Babymine: Girl by Mari Koegelenberg

Babymine: Babies First Year Calendar Set by Mari Koegelenberg

Additional Supplies:  chipboard album, spray adhesive, glue gun, sanding block, ribbons, trims, buttons, flowers, baker’s twine, paper doilies, scissors.

Let’s get started!

Print out enough digital paper pages to cover each page on your album.  My album has nine double-sided pages so I printed out nine 8 1/2″ x 11″ digital papers and then cut each page in half to adhere to my chipboard album.

Have fun looking through all the embellishments in the two Babymine sets!!  I printed out six pages of digital embellishments so I’d have lots of little pretties to add to my brag book!  Make yourself a cup of tea, sit yourself down in front of the TV with your soaps or a good movie on, get those scissors out and start cutting away!  Just like when I was a little girl and I’d spend hours playing with paper dolls!

I have a stampy friend who had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago so I was in need of a sweet little celebration gift to give to the new mommy!  I got this adorable birth announcement in the mail the other day so I used the pics and some embellies to add to my brag book!

Using spray adhesive, cover each chipboard album page with digital papers.  I glued a piece of pink ribbon to the outside spine of the book and then adhered some pretty little snipetts of white eyelet lace on the front and back covers near the spine.

I alternated the patterned papers to give each page a shabby and different look!  I used a sanding block to rough up the edges of each page to create a shabby, time-worn look.

Now comes the FUN part — embellishing your pages!!  Sort through all the little bits and bobs of digital pieces you printed off from the kits and have a blast decorating the pages of your brag book!

I was sure to keep my embellishments to the side so the new mommy will have plenty of space to insert photos of her precious new bundle of joy and do some journaling too!

This is my favie page … I {heart} the scrumpled flower I created using 4 layers of digital flower images and topping it off with a pretty little pink satin flower!

And there you have it … you’ve now created the {sweetest} little baby brag book — what a great gift to give or receive — a handmade from the heart treasured keepsake!  Thanks for peeking in today and allowing me to share my project with you :)
