Sweet Mini Note Card Set
I’m so glad you popped in today to peek at this {sweet} project! How many times have you created the sweetest card, piled high with lots of love and embellishments, only to find out that it’s so lovingly embellished that it won’t fit into a standard envelope? Happens to me all the time as I {adore} embellishments on cards! Today I’ll show you how to make a ‘fat envie’ that will hold all your 3-dimensional cards … and I’ve also created a little mini set of note cards to coordinate with the envelope too!
Here are the supplies you’ll need to make a set of your very own:
The Digichick Shop:
Fat Envies Template and Cutting Files by Kelleigh Ratzlaff
Damask Paper Pack by TK Whimsy
Girl’s Best Friend Paper Pack by Quirky Terp
Other supplies:
Paper doilies, buttons, baker’s twine, satin ribbon, Maya Road trinket pin, twill (kraft) paint, sentiment stamps, black ink, Webster’s Pages sparkler, dies to make flower, glue, scissors, sewing machine (optional).
Print out a patterned paper of choice from the Girl’s Best Friend Paper Pack. Cut the Fat Envie template by either using a personal cutting machine, such as Cricut, with the SVG file or by hand with the PDF file. Distress the edges of the patterned paper with twill ink to create a time-worn look. Score and assemble your fat envie.
Die cut several different shapes and sizes of blossoms using dies and cutting machine of your choice. Here I used a combination of Tim Holtz’s Tattered Florals and Stampin’ Up’s! Blossom Party. Crumple all blossoms after cutting to create dimension. Beginning with the largest blooms, glue all pieces together, staggering the petals with each layer and working your way up to the smallest blossom. Add a sparkler in the center of the bloom.
Ruffle and fluff the edges of the blossom until you achieve the desired look!
Glue half of a paper doilie at the top of the fat envie. Adhere trinket pin and finished blossom. Tie a length of black satin ribbon around the base of the fat envie to hold the box closed.
Print off some more patterned papers from the Girl’s Best Friend Paper Pack and cut four pieces 2″ x 3 1/2″. Ink edges with twill paint to distress.
Print some patterned papers from TK Whimsy’s Damask Paper Pack. Cut four pieces 3 1/2″ x 7″; ink edges with twill paint. Stamp sentiments in the upper right corner of each note card using black ink. Adhere Girl’s Best Friend patterned papers to the bottom of each note card and layer half of a paper doilie on top of this patterned paper.
Adhere a strip of black stain ribbon using a machine zig-zag stitch. Tie baker’s twine around a button and adhere to the middle of all note cards.
You’ve created a {sweet} set of note cards suitable for sending to friends or giving the entire set to someone as a handmade from the heart gift!
Thank so much for allowing me to share this project with you today. I’d love to see pics of the cards and envies you create inspired by my gift set!
Hugs
