Paper Rosettes from a Punch
I love “accidentally” finding new techniques to try. I am always on the lookout for fun and simple projects to make hybrid and when I found this simple one, I knew I had to give it a whirl.
Supplies:
- Having a Laugh kit by Karen Lewis
- Trimmer
- Scoring Tool
- Scissors
- Scalloped Punch
- Circle Punch
- Adhesive
My son had bought a container full of jelly beans and I told him not to throw away the container. I love being able to reuse something. So I took out my tape measure to determine how much paper was needed to wrap around it. I then designed my paper and added a couple of extra embellishments to print off.
Once everything was printed, I was ready to make my rosette. I have a Uchida Large Scallop Circle Punch, it punches 2 inch scallops. So I punched out two shapes.

Now, there are two ways to accomplish this next part and it is the most tedious part of the task. The first punch I scored all my lines.

The second one, I folded my punch. This also creates a crease.
I found scoring it to be easier as I wanted all my creases to be between the scallops. Once this is done, you will take a pair of scissors and cut a slit to the center.
Now, take your punch with all the score lines and accordion fold it. See – aren’t you glad you have those creases now?
Once that is done, you can fan out your flower.
Do the same thing to the second punch and then adhere the two punches together. (I apologize for not having a picture for this step, I got excited once it turned out so nice that I just kept going.) I added a small punched out circle to the back and added my label to the top of my rosette. Below is what it should look like when complete.
I added my rosette to the lid and put some candy inside my container.
Now I have a sweet little candy container to sit on my desk.
