Recipe Box
As the weather outside is starting to chill, it’s the perfect time of the year to keep cozy inside. I can’t think of a better way to warm up than baking in the kitchen. I just love baking goodies and sending them to all my friends, co-workers, and family.
Many of the people I bake for have their special favorites of mine and always ask me for my recipes. I thought it would be a great idea to create a recipe box full of my favorites and send it as a holiday gift with a basket full of baked goodies!
So allow me to show you how I created this simple recipe box. I hope you feel inspired to get in the kitchen and start baking!
Step 1. Start by downloading your favorite digi kit. I used Mari Koegelenberg’s What’s Cooking? kit, which included the recipe box template. Print out all your pieces and cut them out.
Step 2. Score the recipe box template, assemble with double-sided tape or glue and decorate. I wrapped ribbon around my box and added cute little buttons on the front. Then adhered my label over the ribbon with foam tape for dimension. Did I mention this was easy?
Step 3. Type your favorite recipes onto a 4″ x 6″ index card (there is one provided for you in the What’s Cooking? kit). Then, add labels to the index dividers. Since baking is my specialty, I chose “Pies,” “Cookies” and “Cake” for my labels because who doesn’t love dessert?
Final Step. Bake some goodies to go along with your recipe box gift. Have a few for yourself. Enjoy! Because you just created an inexpensive gift that can be used for years to come. And if you need a little more inspiration, I will leave you will my most requested cookie recipe….the Snickerdoodle! Happy baking!
