Fall Wreath
Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons. The reds, oranges, yellows and browns just make look forward to cooler weather. I wanted to make something fall related and this yarn wreath was the perfect project.
I had never really worked with felt before, so this was a new experience for me. But I got my scissors ready and got to work. Below you will find how you can make your own yarn wreath with flowers.
Supplies:
- Yarn Wreath Template by Kim Wresh
- Styrofoam Wreath – found in many local craft stores
- Yarn
- Felt in your choice of colors
- Embroidery thread
- Needle
- Scissors
- Buttons
- Pins

The first thing I did was wrapped the yarn around the wreath. This took a bit of time, but I wrapped the yarn twice around my wreath while watching a movie.

Next using the flower templates I picked three flowers from the choice of six. Kim includes step by step picture details how to create each one. I just cut out the paper template, pinned it to the felt and followed the directions to put it together.

The first flower I made was the folded flower. I used my hot glue gun to put it together, I then attached a button to the center.

To make the leaves, you cut out two leaves and then stitch them together. I didn’t worry about my stitching, in fact I realized the more messy the stitches, the more unique my leaf. I glued my leaves to my flowers.

Once all my flowers were made, I ended up with four flowers and I made a few extra leaves too. I arranged them onto my wreath and glued it all together.

Once the glue was set, my wreath was complete and I now have a new fall decoration to add to our home.

I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial, if you follow the directions to making the flowers they can be made for barrettes or headbands too. You can also use the templates to make paper flowers too.
I also made a fall card using Autumn Zinger by Quirky Twerp and Everyday Love cards by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs:
