Canister Box
May is slowly or should I say quickly winding down, but that doesn’t stop me from looking for quick gift ideas. This super easy canister box is perfect for filling with candy, cookies, or other small items.
Supplies:
- Canister Box template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs
- Digital paper of your choice, I used Spring Breeze by Jennifer Labre Designs
- Trimmer, scissors and scoring tools
- Adhesive
- Embellishments
I was really drawn to the spring colors in this kit and had the perfect flowers to match. I actually added some strips to each side of the canister, so to save space I added the strips along with the bottom of the canister on one sheet of paper.
After I had printed, I was ready to cut it out and score it.
Using my craft knife, I cut out the insides before I cut it completely out. It makes it easier that way.
Once I had my template cut out, I cut out the strips and adhered them.
Now I’m ready to start assembling this. One thing I learned is that the top of the box can be a little tricky. Make sure you really bend the pieces back and forth, it will make closing it a lot easier. So you just need to add some adhesive to the long strip and the little tab at the top.
It will look like this when you are done, with me so far.
Next step is to close the top of your box. Match up the tabs, all the way around the box, making sure you are going in the same direction the whole time. It took me a little bit to get it, but once you get all the tabs, it will close. And the end result will be this:
The final step is to put the bottom on, pretty simple, just add adhesive and line up with the top.
Once I had my box assembled, I added more embellishments. It turned out really cute.
