Hostess Gift Set

August 26, 2009 | Filed under: Articles and tagged with: gift, gift boxes, Jan Hosford, paper, printables, stamping

Today’s set is going to a friend who just moved into a new house and will be hosting a house warming party soon. Even though she insisted on no gifts, I just can’t show up emptied handed. While I was thinking of what to make for her I decided to check out the Hybrid Project sets over at the Digi Chick store and saw Jan Hosford’s Hybrid Helpers ~ Small Packages  set. I also wanted to use some of my new Verve stamp sets (A Cup of Life and Delightful & Delicious) with these package templates I just knew what I wanted to put together.

Here’s a photo of the entire set.hostessgift_set

Along with the boxes I’m including a card and a coaster (pictured on the left), but for this post I will be concentrating on the two packages on the right. I’ll start off with the Tea Set Box. I started by printing the template. Here’s what it looked like.

I then used the Big Shot and one of my Nestabilities dies to cut out a window in the middle of the front panel.

This is what looks like cut out, with a different color of paper glued to the inside of the box and holes punched out for the handle and ribbon. Here’s a photo of the inside of the box.

I added the stamped image to the front and assembled the box together and here’s the finished project.

Here’s a photo with one of two holders I put inside the box. Each holder holds a bag of tea.

The other template I used from this hybrid set, I decided to put cookies inside of it. Here’s what I started with.

I assembled the box, added some silk flowers with the stamped image in the middle, some ribbon, and cookies inside. This is what it looks like finished.

A fun thing I like to do is to stamp cellophane bags to give those plain bags a little something special and to tie in the theme. I used StazOn ink and some more images and sentiment from Verve.  Here’s a photo of the cookies outside of the box.

Next time you’re in need of a quick, yet creative gift, hope you give these fun templates a try!
