Verve Stamps Giveaway

Happy {Inter}National Scrapbook Day Hybrid Chicks! One of the things I love about hybrid papercrafts is the ability to combine my new love of digi papers with my old love of stamping. Today I’m going to show you a few examples of how I’ve used printed digi papers just like I’d use “regular” Designer Printed paper on some stamped card projects.  And best of all? Our very own Julee Tilman, owner of Verve Stamps, is offering a VERY generous stamp set to one lucky winner who comments on this post!!

I absolutely LOVE incorporating digi papers on my card projects and typically print out several blocks of coordinating digi prints on a single 8.5×11 inch sheet of paper.  I’ll cut those papers just like I would regular store-bought paper and use them along with a cardstock base and some stamped images & sentiments plus a few physical embellishments on my card projects.  The card above uses digi papers from the Just Breathe paper pack by Kelley Mickus combined with the Flowers of Tomorrow Plain Jane by Verve Stamps.  I added some Kraft cardstock, some real stitching, a folded piece of ribbon and a mini library clip (Stampin’ Up) as embellishment.

Here are few more samples combining digi papers and stamped images/sentiments:

img_5979On this card, I used the Whisper Paper Pack by Kelley Mickus and the new Because of You stamp set and the Elegant Flower Plain Jane by Verve Stamps.  (Sketch is Lauren Meader’s Saturday Sketch #19)Verve’s stamps look beautiful when stamped directly on printed digi papers! I used a Kraft Cardstock base and added some Chocolate Chip cardstock matting to some of the digi paper panels.  The stamped flower was cut out with my hobby blade and I added a large vanilla brad to the center.  Some chocolate ribbon completed the physical embellishments.  The main sentiment panel is popped up on 3-dimensional adhesive for some added depth.

This last card once again uses a Kraft cardstock base. This time I used the Flight of Fancy mini kit included in Elise’s Pieces May Grab Bag.  Isn’t that airplane embellishment adorable!?! I cut it out with my hobby knife and popped it up on 3-dimensional adhesive.  The stamped sentiment is from Verve’s Beautiful Kindness, attached with some simple staples.  And finally, some more chocolate ribbon to finish it off!

So there you have it! Some fun and easy samples of how you can incorporate stamping in your hybrid projects! How about a giveaway? How’d you like a chance to win some of those amazing Verve stamps you’ve heard me raving about? Here’s a look at what we’re giving away:

I’m a beginner stamper who knows virtually nothing about digital scrapping or stamping, so the hybrid world is a mystery to me. I do wish I understood how it all worked, though.

Well, I don’t consider myself clueless and I certainly can’t find my tiara, so I’m somewhere in between. I love combining my stamps with my digi products whenever I can – it opens up so many more choices! And as for Verve stamps, I can’t say enough about how much fun they are to work with – so versatile and fabulous images!! I’m delighted to see more and more hybrid projects showing up in galleries. The very first card I ever uploaded was a combination of digi papers and rubber stamping! :)

  11. Cristina on Saturday 2, 2009

I started as a digi gal but I’ve started doing hybrid a few months ago and love it! For now I do most of my stuff digitally, print it out and then I add real embellishments; I haven’t tried adding stamps yet, but you made me want to try that out!

Just recently I’ve had the opportunity to play with digital images and have made a few hybrid cards. I’m getting the hang of it and starting to really like it. I just need to get a new printer now to do it justice! And well, Verve!! Don’t get me started but let’s just say it’s my fave stamp company!

I am somewhere in between. I have been learning to stamp over the past few years but don’t have much time to devote to really becoming a queen. I’ll call myself a queen wannabe. Thanks for showing us the hybrid way. I will surely use it in future, as soon as I get a printer with supplies that are reasonably priced (have an HP Color LaserJet now…whew, they’re “spendy”). Looking at the new Kodak printers to see if they’re a good fit.

  22. Sharyn on Saturday 2, 2009

Stunning! What lovely combinations. After not stamping for a few years I have just this year got back into making all my cards by hand.
My stamps are all about 20 years old…so it is time for an update!

  23. Toby Skaggs on Saturday 2, 2009

I would consider myself to be a stamping Princess. Not quite a queen but not a newbie! Great set of stamps from a super company!

    Hello Jen,
I’m a stamper from way back. I love to stamp, but I’ve never done any hybrid stamping before so this is totally new territory for me. I think the sentiments on the Verve stamps are the most beautiful sentiments I”ve ever come across. They are so awesome. Thank you for sharing.

    Hugs,
    Anne P.

I’m a betweener. Though I have been stamping for two years, there is always something else to learn. These stamps would be perfect for me since I just found out (twice in the last month) I’m going to be a G-ma this year!

  29. Teri on Saturday 2, 2009

I love crafting and have stamped some, but am still a beginner!

  30. SusyC on Saturday 2, 2009

I’ve been following blogs for a while now and definitely love the idea of ‘hybrid’ scrapbooking. Using digital elements and papers on layouts. x

  31. Cindee on Saturday 2, 2009

Found your site a few weeks ago and I’ve made several projects – love your hybrid work! I also love stamping, and need more excuses to break out the stamps. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas!

  32. melanie on Saturday 2, 2009

i´m more of a digital girl, so i guess tht makes me a clueless stamper??????????

  33. lauriewe on Saturday 2, 2009

I’m a somewhere inbetween, but I love verve and I love digi- what a great combo!

  34. Diane on Saturday 2, 2009

When it comes to stamping – I’m clueless. I have TONS of stamps because I LOVE THEM. I collect stamps and ink pads and I try – really I do. But when it comes to actually stamping something on a page, I get so freaked out that it won’t look right – I just don’t do it. I read blog after blog and every tutorial I can find – but still I can’t seem to muster up the confidence to just do it! Crazy, huh? LOL Until I get up the nerve, though, I’ll keep on collecting those wonderful stamps so I’ll have them when I’m ready, I guess!

  35. Melissa Bove on Saturday 2, 2009

Wow!! What awesome cards!! Love that airplane! They are all great though!!

Well, since I don’t hardly make a project without stamping somewhere on it, I guess I am a Stamping Queen! It’s nice to be royalty somewhere!! :)

Thanks for a chance at a sweet and adorable set!!

    Hugs,
    Melissa B

I am a regular card-maker – use ‘real’ paper and stamps. Never used dgi papers before, still trying to get my head around technology!!? Love to win someVerve stamps – am an avid follower of the Verve blog and Julee’s delicious creations.

  44. Dee Libis on Saturday 2, 2009

I’ve stamping and cardmaking for a year and I would say and hopeful other people too that I am a in-between. and hopefull one day I will be a queen.

  47. Jessica Diedrich on Saturday 2, 2009

Well, I defnitely wouldn’t call myself a Queen, LOL! maybe a Princess? Cuz I like all things girlie and flowery. Hee hee. I think the best part about stamping is that it’s not really a craft that we “master”…there is always much to be learned and so much wonderful talent out there! After 6 years of stamping I definitely want to continue learning. Too many awesome stamps and techniques out there that i don’t want to miss!!!

  48. Adoree on Saturday 2, 2009

Are you kidding….when I step into my craft room….I’m a clueless stamper! LOL
To my family and friends…..I wouldn’t say I’m a queen stamper…but maybe the queens right hand gal! LOL
But in reality…..I’m really in between….kinda like it here…for now LOL
