Hybrid “Pick of the Week”
Every weekend here at The Hybrid Chick, we plan to bring you a few of our favorite picks for items from the Digichick Boutique that we think are just perfect for your adventures in the world of hybrid crafting! I’m sure you’ve discovered that there are lots of wonderful digital products out there, but what’s good for printing, too?
Well, we are here to help you find out by bringing you our favorite “Printer Friendly” picks from around the Boutique! Let’s take a look at this week’s recommendations, shall we?
Hybrid Projects:
First up this week is an adorable little mini album from the Hybrid Projects section of the Boutique: The Just the Basics: Love Matchbook album from designer Mari Koegelenberg:
This sweet little matchbook album comes ready to print and assemble, complete with detailed instructions with photos from Mari. She’s even included some sample pictures from her own mini album that she made for her hubby:
All you need to do is simply add your photos and print! Or, if you don’t have a “fancy” photo-editing program, like Photoshop, you can send the .jpg files to your printer to print on a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and then add your photos and embellishments after printing!
Very easy to make and very adorable—and the perfect for a gift for your sweetheart. Best of all, this little album is only $1.50 in the Boutique. Quite a steal!
If you like the papers and elements Mari used to make this mini album, you can purchase those separately as well. Be sure to check out her “Just the Basics” collection which includes her Love Papers, Fancy Swirls, Scalloped Labels and the beautiful Black Glitter Alpha.
Paper Packs:
Next up this week is a beautiful new paper pack from designer Kelley Mickus called Our Story:
This paper pack contains 8 beautiful patterned papers along with 5 textured solids and a piece of doodled notebook paper for a grand total of 14 pretty papers, all 12 x 12.
These papers are perfect for all sorts of pages and projects. The size of the patterns makes them a good candidate for card-making. And the mix of colors with neutral tones are well suited to scrapping about the men in your life. I think this pack has a cozy “family” feel to it—very classy.
Don’t miss the entire Our Story collection that comes with Kelley’s original doodled elements, digital stamps, frames, flowers and more!
Element Packs:
Finally today I have a pack of cool Date Ribbon embellishments to show you from Mira Designs:
These date ribbons are a lot of fun! This pack comes with a set of 48 twill tapes, one for each month of the year in four different neutral colors. Also included are a set of .png files for each day of the month and the years 2000 through 2015 (which are easy to recolor).
You can easily customize and build your own ribbon with these little digital stamps making this set of ribbons both fun and versatile. Just make your own dated twill tape in Photoshop and print it out to add the perfect touch to your next layout! The twill pattern on these ribbon makes for a nice texture on your ribbon element without all the bulk of using actual twill tape because it’s cardstock. Hybrid is just cool like that!
Well, that’s all for this week! Hope you feel inspired to try a little hybrid for yourself! If you do, be sure to let us know all about your adventures! Be sure to upload a photo to our Gallery or stop by our Forums to chat with us. We’d love to hear from you!
Happy creating!
